History of the development of radiation diagnostics

Abstract

An ancient Latin proverb says: "Diagnosis cetra - ullae therapiae fundamentum" ("A reliable diagnosis is the basis of any treatment"). For many centuries, the efforts of
doctors have been aimed at solving the most difficult task - to improve the recognition of human
diseases. The need for a method that would allow to look inside the human body without damaging
it was enormous, although not always realized. What a great benefit a direct exam ination of the
human body would bring if it suddenly became "transparent"! And hardly any of the scientists of
the past could have imagined that this dream is quite feasible.
