RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS: EFFECTIVENESS OF BIOLOGICAL THERAPY AND FUTURE PERSPECTIVES IN TREATMENT
Abstract
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic autoimmune disease characterized by persistent inflammation of the joints, progressive cartilage destruction, and bone erosion. Without adequate treatment, the disease can lead to disability, reduced quality of life, and increased mortality. The introduction of biological therapies has significantly improved the management of RA by targeting specific components of the immune system responsible for inflammation. This article reviews the effectiveness of biological therapy and discusses future perspectives in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis.
